Londonwide LMCs support 26 Local Medical Committees (LMCs). Each LMC, chaired by practising GPs, provides leadership, advice and support for practices in their constituencies and in dealings with their PCT. Find your local committee here.

As part of our service to LMC members, constituent GPs and their practice teams, we publish a monthly newsletter as well as organising topical and informative events.

LMC members are elected by GPs in their locality. They normally serve a period of 4 years and are paid an honorarium to cover the cost of arranging locum cover and travel to meetings.

Are you interested in knowing who your LMC representatives are?  Would you like to stand as an LMC member?  Or talk to a current LMC member in your area?  Please contact info@lmc.org.uk and we will pass your information on to the Committee Liaison Executive, who will contact you.

In addition, Londonwide Enterprise Ltd (LEL) was launched on 2 October 2009. LEL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Londonwide LMCs Ltd, is a new organisation created and run by GPs for GPs and practice teams in response to demand by practices for additional advice and support. LEL will offer London’s GPs and practices extensive experience, excellent service, and exceptional value for money. Visit our LEL section for further information.

The Tax Health Plan - Fair Play or Fair Game? FREE webinar for GPs and practice managers
23 Mar 2010

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has introduced a Tax Health Plan (THP) for health professionals. The THP is the first initiative in a new HMRC campaign focused on professionals. The THP offers medical professionals with undisclosed tax liabilities an opportunity to come forward and settle their affairs in return for a lower, fixed penalty. Formal investigation potentially faces those who decide not to notify HMRC, by 31 March 2010, of their intention to make a disclosure. To help you understand the THP more fully and to explain the steps required in making a disclosure, Vantis, one of the UK’s leading accounting, tax, business recovery and advisory groups, will be hosting a short on-line webinar on Tuesday 23 March 2010 at 1.00pm.
