What we do

 

Londonwide Local Medical Committees (LMCs) is here to support and represent the 6000+ GPs and their practices in the capital.  We are the professional voice of general practice in London and we strive to help all members of the practice team.

Londonwide LMCs provides advice and guidance on a range of issues from contractual disputes to new policies and
what they really mean for General Practice. We are focussed on ensuring that London’s GPs and their practices have access to the information and support they need to help them provide the best possible service to their patients.  We frequently negotiate pan-London agreements that will save both practices and Primary Care Organisations (PCOs) time and confusion when it comes to implementation.

From practice issues to individual concerns, your local LMC, made up of locally elected GPs and practice staff,
and the Londonwide LMCs office staff are available for free, confidential advice.

We also provide:

  • National representation and negotiation – Londonwide LMCs is represented on the General Practitioners Committee, providing a dialogue with national representatives about issues that affect London and the UK.
  • Local representation via your Local Medical Committees (LMCs) – We support LMCs across 27 boroughs of London.  These LMCs meet with their local PCO(s) to discuss issues in your area and negotiate agreements and contracts, and they are on hand to provide support to practices with specific concerns.
  • GP Support – Personal one-to-one advice and support for practices and individuals on a wide range of issues.
  • Training and education – We provide tailored training for GPs and practice teams on a number of non-clinical and clinical topics via our subsidiary Londonwide Enterprise Limited.

 
In some cases an individual’s or practice’s needs may go beyond the core services we provide our constituents. In these instances we may be able to provide additional support via Londonwide Enterprise Limited (LEL), our wholly owned subsidiary.
