This is a great opportunity for you to build on your high-quality clinical skills, as a member of a dedicated, energetic, and proactive multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job
As a result of the national strategy NHS 111 First, we are now expanding our service in order to deliver the main features of this: booking patients into ED slots and Same Day Emergency Care [SDEC] services and in the near future, hot clinic referrals [e.g. lower GI and cardiology referrals]. These schemes need the GP skill set to provide remote assessment from base [with access to video technology and patients records] to ensure high quality, clinically effective referrals onto other services. We are looking for GPs to work across the breadth of our service portfolio including Urgent Care Centres, 111 and OOHs shifts (collectively referred to as Integrated Urgent Care services) including car shifts visiting patients homes (with a dedicated driver and PPE equipment in line with government guidelines).

Medical Indemnity

With the creation of the Clinical Negligence Scheme for General Practice, medical indemnity costs are at an all-time low. Please note that support for complaints/professional representation at disciplinary hearings/ regulatory bodies etc. is outside the scheme and clinicians are required to arrange cover with their defence organisation/ insurer – fees for this are presumably proportionate to the number of average weekly sessions worked.

Sessional Options

Our sessions are managed via RotaMaster there is flexibility with this in that GPs can request to do blocks of sessions e.g. groups of nights/ evenings together, either every week or alternate weeks or even 1:4 weeks, depending on demand for session fill.
