13 June: Our Future, Our Say, Our Way – what you can do to practise safely right now

image

We will be hosting a live event with Dr Katie Bramall-Stainer, GPCE Chair, and our London LMC leaders, on what you as a practice can do to practise safely right now, within your rights as contract-holders. A ballot of BMA GP contractor members will open on 17 June. It is absolutely imperative that at least one key representative from each and every London GP partnership attends.

Media and public affairs round-up

image

On 3 May, Dr Michelle Drage, our CEO, issued this comment calling on Sadiq Khan to consider general practice in his plans for his new term as Mayor of London. On 2 May the Health Service Journal spoke to Dr Lisa Harrod-Rothwell, our Deputy CEO, about retention in London general practice, one year on from her report on the challenge.

On 29 April GPOnline quoted Dr Harrod-Rothwell in an article about Government claims to have reduced bureaucracy and on 26 April they also covered her call for action on retention. On 23 April Pulse mentioned our Aspiring to Partnership Programme. We have also supported South London GPs in meeting Rt Hon Andrea Leadsom MP, the Minster for Primary Care.

We continue to actively promote the interests of London GPs and practice staff on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn If you have an example of general practice doing something well which could make a news story please get in touch. We also support practices that are approached with media requests. You can find details here.
