Launched on 13 May, the Target Operating Model (TOM) outlines the principles that will be used to configure INTs in London. The document is intended to be iterative so parts of it may change in response to lessons learned from future phases of the INT rollout. Londonwide LMCs will continue to share information via our website and newsletters as it becomes available.
- The NHS England press release for the launch is is here.
- The web page introducing the TOM is here, the section titled Structure of the operating model provides and index of the different models which make it up.
- A slide deck explaining the TOM and the accompanying document, Neighbourhood Health Service for London Case for Change, are here.
Dr Lisa Harrod-Rothwell, our CEO, said this in response to the launch:
“Every day, as GPs, we help patients navigate a fragmented and siloed service, advocating for them to get the best care wherever they need it.
“We have colleagues working in other parts of this system who are as enthusiastic about working collaboratively as we are. We need to take this opportunity to bring everyone together.
“The benefits could be seen across a number of areas, including patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes, financial efficiency, and health inequities. Morale, wellbeing, and job satisfaction can be massively improved if we are enabled to work effectively together, doing so with our patients and local communities.”
