Neighbourhood health pilot areas announced

Five of the integrated neighbourhood team (INT) pilots are in London, with three falling inside the area covered by Londonwide LMCs.

On 9 September the Government announced 43 neighbourhood health pilot areas as part of the move towards general practice and other services working within INTs.

The pilots will be based around GP practices with a neighbourhood health team augmenting general practice staff, including with community nurses, hospital doctors, social care workers, pharmacists, dentists, optometrists, paramedics, social prescribers, local government organisations and the voluntary sector.

Within the Londonwide LMCs area the pilots will be:

NHS North West London ICB

  • Hillingdon
  • Kensington, Chelsea and Westminster

NHS South East London ICB

  • Lambeth and Southwark

Outside of the Londonwide LMCs area the London pilots are:

NHS South West London ICB

  • Croydon

NHS North East London ICB

  • Barking and Dagenham

 

‘Integrators’ announced in South East London

The integrator has a role convening and leading the creation of INTs, each one has a host who provides back office functions and holds funding allocated to developing INTs.

South East London ICB  confirmed the integrators for four of the five London boroughs it covers in one announcement:

  • Bexley:  The borough’s health and care partnership between the London Borough of Bexley, Bexley Health Neighbourhood CiC, Primary Care Networks, and Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. Oxleas will host the arrangement.
  • Lambeth: A partnership between Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) and Lambeth General Practice Provider Alliance. GSTT will host the arrangement.
  • Lewisham:  A partnership between the London Borough of Lewisham, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, primary care, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the voluntary and community sector. Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust will host the arrangement.
  • Southwark: A partnership between GSTT and GP federations: Improving Health Ltd and Quay Health Solutions.  GSTT will host the arrangement.

In a separate announcement it confirmed that the One Bromley group would be integrator for the borough with Kings College NHS Foundation Trust as the host.
