Londonwide LMCs have been working with South East London Workforce Development Hub (SELWDH) to provide Oliver McGowan training to practices in the area. This is NHS England’s preferred training to meet the requirement that GPs have been trained in understanding the needs of people with learning disabilities and autism.
Practices have said they have struggled to find suitable local providers for the in-person training, which is why we have collaborated with SELWDH to bring convenient sessions to South East London. Available dates and booking links can be found on the SELWDH website.
If there is sufficient interest we may work with other training hubs to run sessions in other ICB areas. If your practice is outside SEL and interested in Oliver McGowan training please email wti@lmc.org.uk to let us know. We are always looking at ways we can meet practices’ training needs and fill gaps in provision, so please get in touch via the same email address if there are other forms of training you would be interested in. This brochure details the training we have run previously, that can be re-run upon agreement.
