Healthtech-1 started in Stratford Village Surgery an East London GP practice.
Their founding story starts with Pete and Raj – two childhood friends who were brought into the GP practice (Raj’s mum and dad run 4 GP practices in London, Stratford being one of them!) to help overcome some of the challenges of caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Surprised to find that registrations were backlogged up to six weeks, they built a solution that automated it, turning a piece of work that used to take weeks, to now take hours.
Fast-forward 4 years, and Healthtech-1 have made great strides, picking up a few accolades along the way. They have won an InnovateUK grant, the Digital Solutions Provider of the Year in 2024, and Pete is a fellow on the NHS Innovation Accelerator program. They now work with 1,468 GP practices in England (23%) automating their registration and lab report admin.
