London General Practice Awards winners 2026

  • Latest news

Thank you to everyone who submitted nominations, to everyone who made the awards event such a special afternoon and well done to our winners.

We hosted our second London General Practice Awards in Parliament on February 5 2026, recognising the dedication and enterprise of our hard-working GPs and practice teams across the Capital. The nominations window ran through September and October, with hundreds coming in from across London. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to nominate colleagues or themselves.

The awards event was also an opportunity to talk to MPs, peers, journalists and other opinion formers about the challenges facing GPs and practice teams at the moment, and to secure their support and allyship. Our judging panel was drawn from across general practice, the wider healthcare system and politics. More details are available below on the winners, judges, nominees, nominators, alongside the thoughts of our CEO and sponsors about the importance of recognising the great work going on in general practice across London.

We would like to thank Londonwide LMCs Buying Group members MIAB for sponsoring the event, they share our enthusiasm for seeing the best of London general practice recognised.‎‎

This year saw the addition of two new categories recognising effective engagement, collaborative working, partnership, and support for general practice from commissioners and from local government. The awards are pan-London and nominations were open to those working in general practice across London and cover the Londonwide LMCs area as well as Barking & Dagenham and Havering (BDH LMCs) and Kingston, Richmond and Croydon (Surrey and Sussex LMCs), who were also invited to submit nominations.

Dr Lisa Harrod-Rothwell said:

“Last year we only just scratched the surface of the ways London’s GPs and practice teams are doing fantastic work for their patients in often very challenging circumstances. This year I am again delighted and humbled to hear about GPs who have been serving their patients for almost as long as I’ve been alive, a team working hand-in-hand with their local community to improve vaccination rates and patients giving up hours every week to help others understand how to use new online services.

“GP practices are providing a fifth more appointments than they were five years ago and while resources haven’t kept up with demand, GPs continue to provide high-quality personalised care to the local communities that their practices are embedded in. With the tightening grip of austerity across the NHS, we’ve continued to see a shift of clinical risk and workload onto general practice. But we’ve made great strides in collaborating with other healthcare providers to address these challenges and explore future models of care.

“This year we have two new categories recognising effective engagement, collaborative working, partnership, and support for general practice from commissioners and from local government. We’re working closely with secondary care at both the regional and local levels. Regional accountability supported by our progress reports and local LMC representation is starting to drive improvements across all boroughs.”

Montrose Bill, Medical Malpractice Practice Team Manager, MIAB said:

“MIAB is delighted to be sponsoring one of the 11 categories at the Londonwide LMC Awards at the House of Commons on 5th February. General practice safety is fundamental to patient care, and we are proud to support the London General Practice Safety Award, which recognises individuals or teams making a meaningful contribution to safer services. It is a privilege to celebrate excellence in general practice and to be part of an event that highlights the dedication and professionalism of those working across London”
