It will aim to cover the funding and financial flows into practices, practice expenses and risks and opportunities for contract holders as they work within the independent contractor model and how they adapt to the regular changes in the GP contract to sustain a financially viable general practice.
This has been requested and highlighted by LMC sessional GPs as useful information to support their knowledge and representative function as an LMC member. The session will run twice:
- 30 April 2026 – 1:15 to 2:45 pm
- 30 June 2026 – 1:15 to 2:45 pm

Please note that honoraria will not be paid for this lunch and learn event.
This training is only available to LMC members and intended to upskill them to better represent their colleagues across local practices. If you are interested in being an LMC member the next round of elections are in 2028, prior to that some LMCs may occasionally have vacancies outside of the election cycle and other opportunities for interested GPs to get involved.
