This standalone session will cover the intricacies of accurately completing and submitting the mandatory end of year data (SD55s). There will be an element of homework prior to attending this session. This will ensure that attendees have evaluated their Pension Online (POL) system to check that there is no missing data requiring processing before final submissions can be made (eg, outstanding SD55s from previous financial years, unresolved POL queries, etc). Full guidance and worksheets will be provided two weeks before the taught session.
The primary objective of this session is to ensure that practices are able to submit accurate data in a timely manner (ie, before the deadline – currently set as 31 May 2026) so as to facilitate the production of Annual Benefit Statements for their staff by NHS Pensions. Inaccurate data submissions will lead to staff receiving incorrect benefits as these figures are rarely, if ever, revisited prior to the member claiming their pension.
