What has Camden LMC been working on recently?

GP Business Rates Review Process
Following a query from a Camden practice, we wrote to NCL ICB to clarify their process for reviewing the rateable values for GP premises. The ICB clarified that they have contracted Integrated Healthcare Properties LTD (IHP), to process and review the rateable values for GP Premises, following the Valuation Office Agency’s Rateable Value Reviews. LW LMC’s GP Support Team have provided the following relevant guidance from the gov.uk website which will be helpful to practices preparing for their review:

Engagement with Camden Council
We (Dr Tina Agrawal and Dr Farah Jameel) meet on a regular basis with Councillor Anna Wright (Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Adult Social Care) to discuss health and social care concerns and practical issues like GP parking permits. We have also resumed our regular meetings with Camden Public Health colleagues to discuss public health issues and funding for Locally Commissioned Services. We invited Councillor Ann Wright and her colleague, Henry Langford (Head of Integrated Neighbourhoods Team) to a recent Camden LMC to discuss Camden’s vision for Integrated Neighbourhoods Teams (INTs) particularly the work underway in the East Camden Neighbourhood. The LMC highlighted the lack of co-located services, estate constraints and limited funding for integrated teams.

Primary Secondary Interface
Dr Ben Bromilow, Dr Ann-Marie Tully and Dr Tina Agrawal, regularly attend the Royal Free, Whittington Health and UCLH clinical Interface Groups (CIGs) to improve working with our secondary care colleagues and to lobby for the trusts to implement the NCL Consensus document. We will be highlighting the BMA report on the Value of a GP at the upcoming ULCH and Royal Free CIGs. Please do read the report and spread the message as wide as possible.

If you have any frustrations relating to the Royal Free or UCLH or other trusts, please write to the following GP Liaison officers to raise any issues/queries relating to that secondary care trusts:

Quality alerts are raised via the ICB website. You can send anonymised incidents to let us know by contacting sarah.ocran@lmc.org.uk so that we can raise these issues on your behalf.

Please let us know if you have experienced any difficulties making direct referrals to Camden Virtual Wards by emailing sarah.ocran@lmc.org.uk.
