The Local Medical Committee (LMC) works on your behalf to represent the interest of all GPs in Hammersmith and Fulham. We are here for partners, salaried GPs, locums and all practice staff. If you have a specific practice-related issue then our GP support team may be able to help – they can be contacted at GPSupport@lmc.org.uk.

Chair and Vice Chair

I am Dr Kyla Cranmer, and I am the Chair of the Hammersmith and Fulham LMC and Dr Paul Skinner is the Vice-Chair. In addition to the elected LMC members listed above we also have non-GP co-opted members, who bring expertise in specific areas. We have Katie Embleton, Helen Poole and John Adams, who bring a range of expertise in IT, PCNs and Pharmacy.

Surviving the 2026-27 GP contract – webinar recording

A recording of the first run of Londonwide LMCs’ webinar is now available on the 2026-27 GP contract guidance page for those people who were unable to attend either session.

You can find out about the effect on London of the contract changes, with our unique patient population and commissioning arrangements, based on the documentation available at the end of April.

What has Hammersmith and Fulham LMC been working on recently?

  • Interface meetings. In H and F LMC we seek to interface with secondary care and other colleagues, as we know this is crucial to our patients. One example is imaging interface meetings that are now up and running and the LMC has raised concerns about rejected imaging requests and alignment of NWL guidelines and the USS requesting guidelines. An example of this is that the gall bladder polyp guidelines on the NWL website do not match the clinical decision tool built into the ICE requesting system – we are trying to get this rectified, so they are aligned. On the community side, we continue to meet regularly with Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH) – the CLCH services are keen to come to practice or network meetings to discuss their services and any issues GP are facing with referrals, My LMC colleague Dr Antonia Wade regularly attends regular Mental Health interface meetings. Please get in touch with us below, via Ian Oakley’s e mail, if you have any interface issues you would like us to raise.
  • Advice and Referral (A & R). A & R was launched by the acute trusts without consultation with the LMC and that we have raised some concerns about the patient experience and the potential increased burden on general practice. The LMC will continue to fight to make the voice of GPs heard and this is an example of why consultation with LMCs is so vital to make the NHS work for doctors and patients.
  • Eating disorder services. At the NWL ICB Eating Disorder Pathway meeting in April there was an agreement that an adult specification is going to be produced, as there is none currently. Due to LMC lobbying it was agreed that GPs would not be asked to do physical health monitoring any more frequently than 3-6 monthly (anything less than that should be under specialist services for the sake of the patient). This is a win for GPs and our patients.
  • Sessional GPs. Sessional GPs are central to the work of the LMC. The LMC recommends that practices pay Sessional GPs that include uplifts, which are recommended and funded, via the DDRB pay review process. As one profession, Sessional GPs form a vital part of the general practice ecosystem and it is only if those GPs receive fair remuneration can a stable Sessional GP workforce exist, which gives vital support and flexibility to partners and salaried GPs.

At NWL ICB level

WNL ICB. As of the 1 April 2026 the NWL and NCL ICBs formally merged to form the West North London (WNL) ICB. The new ICB will cover 13 London Boroughs, with a population about the same as New Zealand. This new body will have 50% less funding, per head, for administration than before. This means that one of the priorities of Hammersmith and Fulham LMC will be to ensure that GPs are able to make their voice heard and have mechanisms to escalate issues and/or concerns. As detailed above we are taking on this challenge.

LMC Engagement – What’s the best way to contact you?

We are currently looking at how the LMC engages with our colleagues in general practice across the Borough and we would be grateful if you would let us know the most efficient way(s) of reaching you. We are open to any method of communication and would appreciate your feedback regarding the methods we could adopt. These could include (but are not limited to):

  • Local Newsletters
  • Social media
  • Local Practice visits
  • Attending meetings/events
  • Clinical group meetings
  • PCN CD meetings
  • PM forums
  • Email alerts

In addition to the above we would be grateful if you could let us know how regularly you wish to be updated, we are aware that practices receive multiple communications throughout your working week, so we do not wish to over burden you, but are keen to keep you as up to date as possible with the work that the LMC is carrying out on your behalf. If you want to provide feedback regarding the above questions, please contact Ian Oakley.
