Dear colleague,
What is the LMC and what do we do?
The Local Medical Committee (LMC) represents the interest of all GPs in Haringey; partners, salaried GPs, locums and those working in non-traditional GP roles. Your feedback and concerns are invaluable to us; please tell us about any issues or queries, whether local or national, by emailing sarah.ocran@lmc.org.uk.

What has Haringey LMC been working on recently?
Advice and Guidance Enhanced Service
The revised service specification for the 2025/26 General Practice Requests for Advice & Guidance Enhanced Service (ES), required GP practices to sign up on CQRS on or before 27 May 2025, as mentioned in last week’s Londonwide LMCs newsletter . You will have received the letter from the ICB outlining the details of the ES and the practice specific notional cap on activity. Londonwide LMCs’ NCL Team continues to liaise with the NCL ICB both on implementation and monitoring.
Safeguarding referrals
At a recent meeting, the LMC discussed concerns about a new referral portal for practices to raise safeguarding concerns. We are keen to gather accurate information on this issue before we decide our next steps. If you have any concerns over safeguarding referrals, please contact sarah.ocran@lmc.org.uk.
Breast cancer hormone injections
Did you know that secondary care trusts should not be passing on the monthly GnRH analogue injections for practices to administer. This also includes those patients who are self-administering these injections as the clinical responsibility continues to reside with secondary care trusts. This service is not currently resourced, and we are seeking extra funding and resources for providing these services in general practice.
2025 LMC elections – nominate yourself before 5:00pm, 3 June
LMC nominations are open, and we’d love to hear from some new people. Please watch Londonwide LMCs’ short animation explaining why should you stand for your LMC , which is part of their regularly updated elections page. You can also share the animation and a short message via WhatsApp.
LMC membership is for every GP regardless of experience or role – we have space for GP registrars, all the way up to those nearing retirement. For more information, contact lmc-elections@lmc.org.uk or the current chair, Toni Hazell, on toni.hazell@nhs.net.
Dr Lisa Harrod-Rothwell, CEO, Londonwide LMCs says: “If you are the type of person who likes things to change when they are broken, if you don’t accept people saying ‘that’s just the way it is, we have to live with it’, and you want to make a difference to your colleagues and your patients, please stand for your LMC. You can raise and resolve all sorts of issues such as interface and pathways that are impacting on your ability to do your job.”
