Following LMC elections this summer, Haringey LMC started a new three-year term of office on 1 September 2025, with the newly elected LMC being confirmed at its Inaugural meeting last month. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the Chair of Haringey LMC alongside Vice-Chair, Dr Thomas Spary.

Who we are
Our current membership includes, 6 elected GP members, a co-opted GP registrar nominated by the GP Vocational Training Scheme (VTS) and practice manager and practice nurses observers, appointed as by their respective forums. Below is a list of Haringey LMC members:

What we do

Recent and current areas where LMC committee members are engaged
- Trust clinical interface groups (North Middlesex Planned Care Board and Whittington Clinical Interface Group meetings), raising issues on inappropriate workload transfer/discharge summaries.
- ADHD Steering Group meetings, ensuring that the ADHD Team stop discharging patients to GPs and instead will retain responsibility for periodic reviews, complex patients will be reviewed annually, and patients or GPs can request interim reviews without requiring new referrals.
- Pan LMCs/London Ambulance Service (LAS) bi-monthly meeting, which was set up in response to reports of inappropriate requests being made of Haringey GPs by paramedics.
- Haringey PCN CD meetings.
- NCL Mental Health Clinical Interface Group.
- NCL Digital Diagnostics meetings.
- NCL Long Term Condition Local Commissioned Services (LTCs LCSs) providing feedback on practice concerns.
- Reviewing and providing feedback on Clinical pathways and shared care agreements, which has led to meaningful changes in pathway design.
- Advocating for funding for extra work completed by practices (administering of Zoladex injections for prostate or breast cancer).
- LMC Conferences – representing the views of constituents at national LMC conferences.
Local Priorities
Our priorities include:
- New GP Contract (implementation – particularly e-consult open till 8.30 6.00, 5 days week (workload issues & guidance on how it can be managed safely).
- Development of Integrated Neighbourhood Teams -sustainability of GPs and their practices in the system change.
- Service commissioning & supervision issues.
- Winter Access Funds (WAF)-ensuring timely and adequate funding for practices.
- Long Term Conditions Locally Commissioned Service (LTCs LCSs) work and input into changes for 26/27.
- Primary/secondary interface, including digital diagnostics by attending Trust Clinical Interface Groups, raising issues on inappropriate workload transfer/ discharge summaries.
- Reaching out to our constituents to ensure your voices are heard and concerns acted upon.
- We will be attending local GP meetings and forums (PCN CDs, Haringey GP Collaborative meetings)to listen to the concerns of local GPs and to provide updates on our work. We will also be providing updates on our work through regular newsletters, and borough specific alerts on pertinent issues.
- GP Provider Alliance (GPPA)-strengthening links between the LMC, local GPPA borough representatives and GPPA’s 4 LTCs clinical networks representatives.
Refreshed Londonwide LMCs Buying Group
Our substantially update Buying Group offer is now live, bringing high quality products, service, opportunities and offers to London general practice at the best prices and with the best possible deals.
The offer now includes a supplier for each of these areas: consumables, insurance, training and practice support and wellbeing (including free and discounted tickets to music, theatre and sports events). In addition, we have four suppliers for digital and tech services covering: cloud telephony, records digitisation, call-and-recall automation and patient registration automation.
