  • The NHS staff standards set national minimum employment requirements to improve staff experience, outlining employer actions and what staff can expect. 
  • New NHS staff standards will make employers accountable for tackling racism, violence and sexual harassment, with results published in league tables. 
  • Government announces 10 Year Capital Plan to modernise NHS buildings, upgrade GP surgeries and bring more care closer to patients’ homes.

The King’s Fund 

  • Responding to the annual GP Patient Survey published by NHS England, Beccy Baird, Senior Fellow at The King’s Fund, said: ‘These results clearly show the front door of the NHS is becoming easier to open. Patients are starting to feel the benefits of improvements being made despite significant pressures facing services, as GPs and practice teams continue to deliver around 30 million appointments every month.’ 
  • The financial cost of delayed discharges has risen to £2.7bn in 2025/26, up 7.5% in just one-year, new King’s Fund analysis has found.
