What we do

We are here to support practices and to represent the interests of all local GPs and their practice teams. One of our key priorities is that we hear the issues and concerns that matter to our local GPs and practices this is critical to the work we do for you. We recognise that this is a two-way conversation and we will be embarking on a more personal practice/ constituency engagement to hear and listen to your concerns about the pressures GPs and practices are facing, but we also need you to reach out to us with any issues or concerns by emailing Amy Honor, Committee Liaison Executive amy.honor@lmc.org.uk.

What has Hillingdon LMC been working on recently?

Primary/Secondary Care Interface

Work continues to push back on all the inappropriate workload dumping which is taking place. As the ICB have merged The Hillingdon Hospital’s interface meeting will now be hosted by the Chair of Hillingdon Confederation going forwards. Committee representatives attend several interface meetings, and we will update you of changes as structures change.

A quick reminder that The Hillingdon Hospital now has a Primary Care Liaison Officer who can be contacted on thh-tr.bookingcentre@nhs.net. This is for GP related queries and feedback. Patients should still contact PALS where appropriate.

Oliver McGowan Training

A number of practices have raised their concerns regarding the cost and lack of back fill for the Oliver McGowan Training. Although Oliver McGowan training is not mandated Learning Disability and Autism training is under the Health and Social Care Act 2022. Oliver McGowan Training is the governments preferred course but practices can find an alternative training package as long as it is CQC assured. More information on this can be found here Training staff to support autistic people and people with a learning disability – Care Quality Commission. The cost of any alternative courses will be incurred by the practice, in comparison to the Oliver McGowan training offered by WNL ICB that is heavily subsidised, we are aware the cost for this training in NCL ICB is £90 per person. The LMC is not aware of anywhere in the country where back fill has been offered to attend the training.

2026-2027 Contract Changes

Londonwide LMCs has produced a summary of the 2026/2027 contract changes which can be found here. It has also updated it GP Survival Guide which is a useful resource to help manage your workload and avoid unsafe situations for both practitioners and patients. The guide can be found here.

West and North London ICB Merger

As of the 1 April 2026 the NWL and NCL ICBs formally merged to form the West North London (WNL) ICB. The new ICB will cover 13 London Boroughs, with a population about the same as New Zealand. This new body will have 50% less funding, per head, for administration than before. Now more than ever a key priority for Hillingdon LMC will be to ensure that GPs are able to make their voice heard and have mechanisms to escalate issues and/or concerns.
