Help us shape our new website

We are in the early stages of developing a new website. Please spare 10 minutes of your time to complete our online survey. Feedback helps us to ensure the website meets the needs of constituents.

2020 LMC elections

Update your contact details to ensure you can stand or vote in the elections this spring. If you are considering standing, please speak to your LMC Chair.

Thank you for completing our workforce survey

Thank you to those who took the time to provide us with this valuable information, including on PCNs. We will be sharing the results with LMCs in the New Year.

Data protection fees

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is chasing GP practices who have not paid mandatory annual data protection fees, which were introduced last year.

Also this month…

Practice manager conference and networking event

imageWe recently held our half-day practice managers conference and a networking event for general practice nurses, practice managers and health care support workers.

Resolutions passed by the Conference of England LMCs 2019

imageOn 22 November LMC representatives from across England met for the annual Conference of England Local Medical Committees. Three motions were proposed by London LMCs, we have summarised these and provided details of the other motions passed.

Remember to use BEAM to LMC to highlight the pressure you are under

imageOur BEAM to LMC mobile app, which enables you to tell us about the pressures you are under from commissioners and others, is proving popular. Make sure you check the app for push notifications.

Media and public affairs round-up

imageOn 9 December, Dr Elliott Singer, Medical Director for North East London, was featured in a BBC London report on the health issues likely to influence the election. A number of our LMC members were quoted in coverage of the Conference of English LMCs, including Dr Fiona Sanders, Chair of City and Hackney LMC, who called for more support for primary care network (PCN) clinical directors. Dr Sujata Chadha of Hillingdon LMC spoke about PCNs being used as a vehicle for commissioners’ cost saving plans.

We continue to be very active in promoting the interests of London GPs and practice staff on TwitterFacebook and LinkedIn. If you have an example of general practice doing something well which could make a news story please get in touch. We also support practices that are approached with media requests. You can find details here.
