Mandatory vaccination of practice staff – what we know so far
NHS England and Improvement (NHSE&I) is preparing to implement the mandatory vaccination of all individuals undertaking CQC regulated activities in England, including GP Contract holders and employees of GP practices.
NHSE&I has now produced phase 1 guidance related to this, covering the current period before the requirement is passed into law as part of the NHS Act currently going through Parliament. Phase 2 guidance is subject to completion of parliamentary passage, and will focus on the implementation of the new regulations inclusive of a redeployment framework and advice regarding formal steps for staff who have not had two vaccine doses by 1 April 2022.
