An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team on a part time basis
We are a well-established GP practice in West Ealing, caring for approximately 5,500 patients and working as part of South Central Ealing Primary Care Network (SCE PCN).
We are looking for a Practice Nurse with good general practice experience who is confident managing their own clinics and working independently within their competencies. As the successful candidate will be the Practice Nurse working on their allocated days, it is important that they are already experienced and competent across the core areas of general practice nursing.
The role will include:
• Cervical cytology
• Childhood and adult immunisations
• Chronic disease reviews, including asthma, COPD, diabetes and hypertension
• Wound care, dressings and removal of sutures and clips
• Phlebotomy
• NHS Health Checks and new patient checks
• Contraception reviews and coil checks, where appropriately trained and competent
• Health promotion and lifestyle advice
• Cold chain and vaccine management
• Infection prevention and control
• Supporting QOF and local enhanced services
• Maintaining accurate clinical records
• Supporting clinical audits and quality improvement
• Participating in practice and clinical meetings
The successful candidate will also support the practice with infection prevention and control, working alongside the wider team to help us maintain high standards of care.
We are looking for someone who:
• Is a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
• Has previous Practice Nurse/general practice experience
• Is competent in cervical cytology
• Is competent in childhood and adult immunisations
• Has experience and competency in chronic disease management
• Is competent in phlebotomy and wound care
• Is comfortable managing their own clinics and working independently
• Has good communication and interpersonal skills
• Is organised, approachable and patient focused
• Enjoys working as part of a small and friendly team
Experience of SystmOne, QOF, enhanced services, contraception reviews and infection prevention and control would be an advantage.
About Grosvenor House Surgery
Grosvenor House Surgery is based at 147 Broadway, West Ealing, London, W13 9BE and cares for approximately 5,500 patients.
Our team includes 2 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, Locum GP support, Practice Nurses, 2 GP Assistants, a Pharmacy Clerk and our reception and administrative team.
We use SystmOne as our clinical system.
As part of South Central Ealing PCN, we also benefit from support from a wider multidisciplinary team, including Clinical Pharmacists, First Contact Physiotherapy, Mental Health Practitioner services, Paramedic home visiting and Social Prescribing.
Although we are looking for someone who is confident working independently within their nursing role, you will be joining a friendly clinical team with GPs and other healthcare professionals available for advice and clinical support when needed.
