Salaried GP (Maternity cover)

We have a vacancy for a part-time Salaried GP (Maternity Cover) to support our Chislehurst community. This is a fixed-term position for 6 sessions per week (3 days), working Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, commencing on 22nd September 2026 until 6th August 2027, covering a period of maternity leave. Salary is competitive and dependent on experience.

The suitable candidate should feel comfortable working independently as well as alongside our multidisciplinary medical team. The role will include pro-rata involvement in the duty doctor triage rota, working alongside another duty doctor at the opposite practice site. We expect our team to act within their professional boundaries, providing appropriate care for patients through history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of care. You will demonstrate safe clinical decision-making and provide expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within general practice. The ideal candidate will demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process.
You will possess the necessary skills, knowledge, and behaviours to promote and protect the interests of patients and carers, communicate effectively, work within the limits of your competence, refer and delegate appropriately, respect confidentiality, manage risk, report concerns about safety, maintain professional integrity, and keep accurate clinical records.

The role is for 6 sessions per week, worked across three full days: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. The successful candidate will be expected to work across both practice sites.

We are a dynamic, patient-focused, and high-achieving partnership that strives to provide first-class care for our 24,000 patients. Our clinical system is EMIS, which integrates with AccuRx to support patient communication. Home visiting is supported by our Practice Paramedic and Advanced Nurse Practitioner, who work alongside the Bromley Healthcare District Nursing Team. We are part of a PCN that includes a range of additional practitioners, including Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescribers, a Mental Health Practitioner, First Contact Physiotherapists, and Paramedics.

Applicants must hold current GMC registration with a licence to practise, be included on the Medical Performers List and have the right to work in the UK.
