Overview:Now that travellers are on the move again, albeit cautiously, thoughts are returning to the provision of travel health services. The SARS CoV 11 pandemic led to a severe reduction in international travel. Border closures and limited transport options together with hesitancy to go abroad due to the risk of contracting COVID-19 also affected confidence. It is important for those advising travellers to be aware of the changes and complexities likely to be encountered when conducting a pre-travel consultation and when assessing a traveller’s risks. Travellers also have a personal responsibility to explore their risks and potential exposure to travel-related diseases in their destination, including COVID-19. Host countries set their own requirements for entry and travellers should be aware that advice can change at short notice. This session will give an overview of international travel, including emerging diseases, new travel vaccines on the horizon and the latest evidence-based advice, guidance and resources to inform practice.
