Workforce survey – please respond

Our winter 2018 workforce survey will be in your inbox today. The data we gather is vital for our work representing GPs and practice teams across London. Please respond if you can.

Check CCG data against practice data with regard to immunisation targets

Practices are advised to check data presented to them by CCGs with regard to levels of service provision. There have been cases of CCG data not recognising officially advised vaccine substitutions when counting practice vaccination levels.

Viewpoint: London general practice can overcome challenges by working together

Dr Jonty Heaversedge explains why he believes ‘The Next Steps to the Strategic Commissioning Framework’ will benefit London general practice.

Keep us up to date so we can represent you

Please return our data validation emails, so we have accurate details about who is working in practices. Accurate details allow us to better support and represent you.

New health record release form

The BMA and The Law Society have produced a new GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 compliant consent form for releasing health records.

Also this month…

Healthcare support worker forum – give us your views

imageWe are considering forming a forum for healthcare support workers to exchange best practice and provide mutual support. Tell us if you or colleagues would be interested.

Updated sessional GP pages

imageOur library of guidance has been updated, giving London sessional GPs a central resource to find information on issues such as pensions, model contracts, IR35 and more.

Winter access case studies

imageWe are looking for examples to highlight how people can access appropriate care from GP practices, wider primary care and other community based services this winter, to feed into an awareness campaign called ‘My London GP’.

Media and public affairs round-up

imageOn 9 November, our CEO Dr Michelle Drage was quoted in GPonline supporting calls in Parliament for investment to encourage GP registrations in Putney and on 7 November, highlighting the potential for a winter crisis in general practice. On 23 October, Michelle took part in a panel discussion hosted by the Mayor’s office, with the Mayor and the CEO of NHS England in attendance. On 18 October, Michelle spoke at Best Practice conference about the changes happening in primary care.

We continue to be very active in promoting the interests of London GPs and practice staff on TwitterFacebook and LinkedIn. If you have an example of general practice doing something well which you think would make a news story please get in touch. We also support practices that are approached with media requests. You can find details here.
